    SACRED VALLEY AND MACHU PICCHU 2-DAY TOUR


    Visit the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu with our 2-day tour! This incredible tour includes the opportunity to explore the region's most notable archaeological sites, such as Pisac, its Apu Inti Huatana mountain with its terrace system, artisan markets, Ollantaytambo, and Urubamba.
    We'll walk through the magical and historic streets of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, learn about the region's culture and history, and visit the Pisac artisan market. At approximately noon, we'll visit Urubamba for lunch, and then head to Ollantaytambo, an archaeological site commissioned by the Inca Pachacutec, which served military, agricultural, and religious functions.
    After the guided tour, we'll head to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train that will take you to the town of Aguas Calientes. The next day, we'll take the bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Accompanied by a professional guide, you'll delve into Inca culture and discover the archaeological treasures of this majestic region. Enjoy the beauty of nature and discover the culture, history, and heritage that surround it on a scenic trip. Enjoy an overnight stay in Aguas Calientes to explore the town and relax in the hot springs.

    Itinerary

    • Day 1: CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY - AGUAS CALIENTES


    We begin our 2-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of Machu Picchu, picking you up from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the morning. Our tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins with an exploration of Pisac and its archaeological site.
    At noon, we will have lunch in Urubamba, and then visit Ollantaytambo, recognized as the "Best Tourist Town in the World," where we will observe large lithic pieces of finely carved stone blocks, used for astronomical purposes, causing worldwide amazement for locals and visitors alike. After the tour, we will go to the station to board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes. A trip of approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, where you will spend the night.
    Night in Aguas Calientes.

    • Day 2: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

    Early in the morning, we will transfer you to the bus station to the Machu Picchu Archaeological Sanctuary. The trip takes 25 minutes, along a zigzag road until you reach the Inca citadel.

    The guide will take you on a tour of approximately 3 hours, where you will learn about important aspects of the Cusco (Inca) culture, the development of its stone constructions, with unique buildings full of mystery and energy. The citadel has an agricultural and urban area composed of plazas, temples, roads, stairways, terraces, aqueducts, and other platforms, which are held in place by stone retaining walls. Machu Picchu is considered a great feat of architecture and engineering and there is no doubt why it is considered one of the 7 wonders of the world.
    After your tour, we will return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch and then board the train to Ollantaytambo, where our driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.
    Important: The train times indicated are for reference only and may vary depending on train availability.

    RECOMMENDATIONS:

    • For our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu Tour, it is important to bring your passport or ID.
    • Arrive at the train station half an hour before departure time and present your ticket and ID.
    • It is recommended to bring cash, both in soles (the Peruvian currency) and dollars, as most places in Aguas Calientes do not accept credit cards. However, ATMs are available in Cusco, Ollantaytambo, and Aguas Calientes for cash withdrawals if necessary.
    • Bring a small backpack, a camera, a sun hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a water bottle.
    • In Machu Picchu, you'll climb quite a few steps; wear appropriate walking shoes with non-slip grips.
    • Bring some snacks and bottled water, as they'll cost you double once you're in the sanctuary.
    • Visit and enjoy the hot springs in Aguas Calientes.
    • Regarding your luggage, you're only allowed to carry up to 7 kilos on the train.
    • During peak season, visitor numbers to Machu Picchu increase, so you may sometimes have to wait in line to board the bus to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.
