    TRAVEL PLAN
    CITY TOUR

The tour begins with hotel pickup. The first place to visit is the Cusco Cathedral, which houses valuable colonial art treasures, such as paintings from the renowned Cusco School and numerous religious sculptors. Our second visit will be the famous Coricancha (Temple of the Sun), where we can appreciate the blend of Inca constructions (with its perfectly polished stone walls) and Spanish architecture (the church built on the Inca walls). After our visit to Coricancha, we will head out of the city toward Sacsayhuamán, where we will see enormous stone blocks weighing up to 40 tons, perfectly placed one on top of the other. Our guide will explain the importance of this site from before the arrival of the Spanish and during the colonial period, as this place witnessed one of the greatest battles between the Incas and the Spanish. We will continue to the Qenqo (labyrinth) sector, so named for its paths that give the impression of being inside a maze. Here, the most important site is an ancient ceremonial table, which owes its significance to the fact that this place was likely the final resting place of Pachacuteq. We will continue our tour to Puca Pucara (Red Fortress), which was an important control center for people wishing to enter the city of Cusco during the Inca era. Given the importance of the city, which was sacred, all travelers had to first purify themselves of body and soul, which they could do in Tambomachay. This is the last place we will visit, where you can still appreciate the skill and knowledge of hydraulic engineering achieved by the Incas. The tour ends near Cusco's main square.

    Cusco City Cathedral
Its construction consisted of two stages: first, the Chapel of Triumph was built on what was the ancient temple of Suntur Wasi (House of God), and then the cathedral was erected on the palace of the Inca Wiracocha. The Renaissance style dominates the façade and interior, with rich interior decoration featuring cedar and alder carvings. It also houses an important collection of paintings from the Cusco school and embossed silver objects.

Temple and Convent of Santo Domingo / Coricancha
According to chroniclers, Coricancha was one of the most impressive buildings in Inca Cusco: its interior featured entire walls covered in gold leaf, as it was the main temple of the Sun God.

    Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Complex
The complex encompasses 33 archaeological sites. The best known is Saqsayhuaman, which is presumed to have been built for religious purposes, but due to its location and style, it was considered by the Spanish and chroniclers to be a military structure.

    Qenqo Archaeological Complex
Qenqo, or "labyrinth," is considered a sacred place where ceremonies honoring the sun, moon, and stars were possibly held. Outside, there is a semicircular amphitheater with trapezoidal niches and a monolith simulating a puma, measuring approximately six meters. The semicircular, semi-artificial cavern inside contains a table or altar where agrarian rites were performed.

    Puca Pucara Archaeological Complex
The complex includes numerous enclosures, interior plazas, aqueducts, watchtowers, and paths. It would have served as a tambo, or resting and lodging place. According to legend, whenever the Inca set out to visit Tambomachay, he was accompanied by a large retinue that stayed at Puca Pucara. Because of its appearance, it is called a fortress.

    Tambomachay Archaeological Complex
Tambomachay may have served an important religious function linked to water and the regeneration of the land. The site covers an area of approximately half a hectare, and the material used for its construction was limestone with polygonal-style masonry.
