    Overview
    Experience an ATV adventure, passing through beautiful landscapes and picturesque villages full of vibrant culture. Delight your eyes with a visit to Laguna de Huaypo and the Salineras de Maras.

    Lagoon de Huaypo
    It's home to a wide variety of fish and birds. It is approximately 1.5 km long by 800 m wide. It is ideal for water sports. According to one local legend, the sun god asked Manco Capac for his twin sons to accompany him in his sunset. When they went to find them, they discovered that the son who walked the farthest had become Laguna Huaypo and the daughter, Laguna Piuray. They are located at an altitude of 3,345 m.a.s.l.

    Maras Salt Mines
    These are salt mines whose exploitation dates back as far as the Tahuantinsuyu. Residents channel the saline water that emanates from the ground of a spring called Qoripujio into pools where, due to the effects of the sun, it evaporates, leaving salt on the surface, which is then treated and sold on the local market.

    TRAVEL PLAN
    ATVs: Huaypo Lagoon and Maras Salt Mines



    Itinerary We'll begin the adventure with hotel pickup in Cusco, then embark on our 45-minute tour by tourist transport to Cruz Pata Village. Here, we'll have a 15- to 20-minute opportunity to practice riding ATVs. Once everyone is ready for the journey, we'll begin the ATV tour toward Huaypo Lagoon. Once we arrive, we'll have 20 minutes to explore the area on our own. We'll then return to camp, board the tourist transport, and head to the Maras Salt Mines. At the salt mines, we'll receive a guided tour and explanation from our guide. After the tour, we'll return to Cusco.
